What to Expect
DAY 1: FEZ-IFRANE-AZROU-MIDELT-MERZOUGA
The first day your private chauffeur will pick you up early from your Hotel/Riad. The amazing journey will take you through the Middle Atlas Mountains in the north of Morocco. We will reach the height up to almost 2000 meters. One of the interesting places we pass by is Ifrane, also known as the Moroccan Switzerland. In the winter season there are possibilities for skiing. Ifrane also has a private university.
In this area, we will see a lot of apple trees, olive trees. The vast cedar forest with eucalyptus trees is also a natural habitat for the Barbary monkeys
As we drive further into the Middle Atlas we pass some Berber villages like Immouzar.
We are going to pursue driving via Midelt, the capital of apples to Ziz Gorges /Vallee Ziz, the valley of the Dades. We will stop at some panoramic views for making the most incredible photographs.
After passing Erfoud (and Rissani ) the most unbelievable red dunes arise at the horizon. Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes look mysterious and majestic. Some of the dunes reach the heights of 150 meters.
After a long day, you will enjoy the hospitality of the Kasbah in Merzouga. When we reach Merzouga, camels are waiting for us. After a one-hour camel trekking tour, we will settle ourselves in a well-equipped camp in the Sahara Sand Dunes. After the amazing sunset, we will have dinner together and spend the night comfortably in Nomad tents. In the evening you can enjoy the Berber music drums while being astonished about a million stars in the sky.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA-MIDELT-IFRANE-FEZ
The second day we’ll get up early for the most incredible sunrise in Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes. Every minute the sky changes its colors. After a full sunrise, the camels will take us back tot he hotel.
We’ll have breakfast together, then we’ll be ready to start our journey heading back to Fez. We again drive through the incredible Ziz Valley and mountains of the Middle Atlas. We have a break in Ifrane to take photographs of the cedar forest and watch the Berbery monkeys. After passing the town of Immouzar-Kandar, a Berber small town we reach the imperial of Fez city in the early evening. Here we drop you off at your hotel/Riad.
